STOLEN TREASURES OF CAMBODIA
In the heart of Cambodia lies the ancient city of Angkor with its magnificent complex of spiritual monuments. But Angkor is in a state of emergency. Thieves use saws and chisels to hack the heads off 1,000-year-old statues of Hindu gods and Buddhas, cannibalizing Cambodia's ancient culture. John Sanday of the World Monuments Fund is struggling to reclaim one of Angkor's major temples from the encroaching jungle and the ravages of time. With Sanday as a guide, National Geographic Explorer investigates the trail of smuggled Cambodian antiquities.
