JOURNAL: WAVE SOARING
Actor Cliff Robertson has been flying planes since he was 14. But it was only about 10 years ago that he started flying in gliders and became a wave-soaring enthusiast. A mountain wave is a unique meteorological phenomenon that produces wind so strong, it can push a glider skyward at about 3,000 feet per minute. To Robertson, soaring is magical. It's become a passion for him, giving him a great sense of freedom and joy.
