WASTE WATCHERS
New York produces more trash than any other city in the country. It's a tide of waste that the city strains to manage. The organization in charge of New York City's waste never rests, running 24 hours a day, seven days a week, just to keep pace with what's thrown away. In New York and around the country, community involvement and new attitudes are beginning to make a difference in the war on garbage. Little by little, people are becoming aware of how much they throw away, and that couldn't happen a moment too soon.
