The fire season's underway and already parts of the U.S. West and Southwest are under siege. When wildfires strike, the first line of defense is often an elite group of firefighters called smokejumpers. For many years, it was called the brotherhood--an all male domain. But that's changed quite a bit over the past 25 years as women have fought for and won the opportunity to fight fires alongside the men.
