Describes the diversity of the African continent from its many countries, religions, ethnic groups, and animal species, to its range of geographic features including savannas, deserts, mountains and large cities. Also discusses the modernization of the continent and some of the problems that many Africans still face, including illiteracy, poverty, and HIV infection.
