Animal Mothers: Cheetah vs. Gemsbok
In the Kalahari Desert, a female cheetah looks for her cubs. They are growing more independent and have gone off on their own to explore. When the cheetah cubs reach about 18 months old, they will leave their mother and seek their own fortunes. Young male cheetahs often team up, hunt, explore, and even go courting together. Young female cheetahs remain solitary, unless they have cubs of their own. The cheetah cubs come across a gemsbok calf. They hunt it and try to kill it. But the gemsbok mother is fierce, and defend her offspring. Eventually, she frees the calf and chases the lion cubs away.
