Killer Whales of the Fjord

Under the clear turquoise waters of the Tysfjord in Norway, a strange gathering is taking place. Pods of killer whales are practicing an extraordinary new behavior pattern involving the local population of herring. Some of the orcas have learned how to herd schools of herring, then blow air from below to float the fish to the surface and then eat them like popcorn. Other pods are now adopting this behavior. We will follow a team of scientists and Amos Nachoum, a world renowned still photographer, as we swim underwater with these amazing animals and gain an understanding of the dramatic relationships between the herring and the killer whale.
