Thunder On the Mountain
It is a least likely day for disaster. The sky is a brilliant blue, and the sun sparkles on the snow like diamonds lining the haughty ridges of the Alps. But the beauty of the scene belies a fatal flaw. For this snow isn't stable. A sudden shift of wind lifts up a sheer curtain of drift and a low rumble begins. Within seconds, tons of ice and snow hurtle down the mountain with a throaty roar, devastating everything - and everyone - in its path. From the chic resorts of St Moritz to the treacherous passes of the Himalayas, we meet survivors who have literally been buried alive.
