Mummies of Gold
The site looks like any other patch of arid Africa, but this desolate stretch in the Nubian Desert may prove to be the largest ancient cemetery ever found in Egypt. Tomb after tomb reveals small vaults carved into the walls, each holding mummies laid carefully side by side, their painted eyes gazing upwards with fixed stares.
