This documentary takes place on the dangerous slopes of Mount McKinley in Alaska, North America's highest mountain. As the climbing season begins, hundreds of men and women arrive seeking the rush of reaching the top of one of the world's most challenging summits. But on McKinley climbers face the dangers of altitude sickness, avalanches and hypothermia - inducing temperatures. And when climbers in trouble call for help, Mount McKinley's climbing rangers must answer. Mick Davie was given unprecedented access to the remarkable stories of the rangers. He follows their every move - the life and death decisions, the harrowing rescues, as well as their more mundane daily routine at the seasonal 14,200 foot base camp. Braving the elements, the rangers have to use all their resourcefulness to find ways of rescuing stranded climbers.
